We had our launch event on 3 December 2010 - St Francis Xavier‘s feast day. Our mission statement is:
The Friends of SFX Church, Liverpool, promote and celebrate the church’s history, architecture and its wider community by organising events for members and guests, collating and circulating Friends’ newsletters, and fundraising for church renovation and enhancement projects.
During our first year we’ve
- enrolled 140 members from throughout the UK and abroad
- circulated 3 newsletters
- visited Stonyhurst College
- visited the central Synagogue and Greek Orthodox Church in Liverpool
- promoted a rehearsed reading of Lancaster University’s production of a play about St Edmund Campion SJ
- started fundraising for the restoration of a pre war stained glass window of St Ignatius Loyola. Membership is open to all.
